Effects of Longum in the Field of Urology

Abstract
|
|
|
New bactericidal agent, Longum (2-Sulfanilamido-3-methoxypyrazine) was administered orally in dose of 2 grams weeky in 40 cases of genitourinary tract infection and following results were obtained.
1) Among 14 cases of chronic nongonorrheal urethritis, 10 cases were cured, 3 cases were improved and no improvement was noted in one cases.
2) Among 11 cases of chronic prostatitis, 4 cases were cured, 3 cases - were improved and 4 cases were not improved.
3) Among 11 cases of chronic pyelonephritis, 9 cases were cured and 2 cases were not improved. 4) Among 4 cases of gonorrhea, 2 cases were cured and 2 cases were improved. No serious side effects were observed except headache and rash in one case.
